![]() Click Install to download and install Logic. If you don't see Logic Pro X in the list, make sure it's not hidden. Look for Logic Pro X in the list of purchased applications in the App Store. Sign in to the Mac App Store using the Apple ID you first used to purchase Logic Pro X. I would also opt for an internal SSD over the fusion drive, as much RAM as you can swing an fast external drive that works with thunderbolt it would make for an impressive studio. Click the Purchases button in the Mac App Store toolbar. I have had about 1 machine in 20 get a little wonky where it had to go back within the 3 years the extended warranty covered it but had I not had it the cost would have been well over $1,000.00 so it's like $45 a year for a very hassle free experience IMHO. My only recommendation is whatever you want to spend on a Mac I suggest you opt for Apple Care. Additionally the display on the 27" is fantastic display. The next issue is the 2010 MPro as you know will support 10.13, the 2009 (or earlier models) wont, I don't know how much longer the 2010 will or a 2013 MPro will have the hardware to support futher development with OS X and in-turn Logic, no one here can guess or offer a guess, but I suspect a mac built with parts from 5 years ago vs one with parts available last year the latter will have a longer deployment lifespan. ![]() I also have a Mid 2010 Mac Pro dual Xeon 2.4 8 core and my findings with at least graphic design and video editing is the iMac is a faster computer, I have about 20 of them in the room behind my desk, and I suspect from what I've seen I have the slowest production mac on the floor. Supported scaled resolutions: 1680 by 1050. I'm also a musician so I know something about what a computer needs to do when recording outside of Logic which appears to be mostly a CPU/RAM and HD affair and I know about mixing digitally. 13.3-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit display with IPS technology 2560-by-1600 native resolution at 227 pixels per inch with support for millions of colors. A few things I don't use Logic, but I do support "graphic-design" macs and have professionally done so for years in large corporations.
